Execution – Enforcement of Foreign Judgments/rulings in Greece

When your legal matter appears to be “resolved” because you hold a Judgment issued in a foreign State’s Court, there is a good chance that you do not have to repeat proceedings from the start, if you want to enforce this Judgment in Greece (e.g. because your debtor has assets in Greece or because you have reason to update your municipal registrations in Greece after a foreign divorce).

That said, there is due diligence to be performed in Greece, in order to make such ruling/Judgment enforced and/or acknowledged in Greece. At the end of this procedure (which may include an uncontested Court process at the Greek Court), you will be able to enjoy in Greece the same or similar privileges as were originally granted to you by virtue of the foreign/enforced Judgment.
